The new Additional
Instructions will amend Clause XXXII
and revoke Clause XXXIII of the
Instructions of the 14th of February,
the
1917. It is our policy to make
similar amendments in the Instruments
of all Colonies as and when opportunity
occurs in order to remove any
inconsistencies which might exist as
the
between/provisions appearing in the

Royal Instructions and those contained
in the Colonial Regulations as to the
procedure to be followed in regard to
the appointment, suspension, and
dismissal of officers. The procedure
laid down in Colonial Regulations, or
such modification of those Regulations
as may be approved for application in
Hong Kong should be followed in regard
to these matters. In view of these
amendments of the Royal Instructions
